The article describes the case of a 65-year-old woman who was referred with acute esophageal perforation following pneumatic dilation. It discusses the role of endoscopic therapy using an endoluminal vacuum-assisted closure system as an alternative in treating anastomotic leaks after esophageal surgery and in traumatic esophageal lesions. Images of the endoscopy showing the affected thoracic esophagus are also presented. |
