| Abstrakt: |
The article discusses the need for creating and supporting community foundations to leverage resources in the rural United States. Information is presented on the Rural Community Development and Initiative (RCDI) grant to the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque in Iowa to involve local communities to create in philanthropy and build area endowments. Support from the RCDI funding for community foundation outreach in four communities is also discussed. |
