Abstrakt: The article focuses on the use of emerging pollution tracking methods to deal with the impacts of animal welfare abuse in concentrated animal feeding operations or animal farms. Topics discussed include the concept of factory farming, several toxic pollutants including pharmaceuticals, hormones and heavy metals contained in the CAFO manure, the role of factory farms in increasing water pollution. It mentions the environmental, animal welfare, and public health threats of factory farming, the use of antibiotics to enhance livestock growth and pollution control laws.
