Abstrakt: Improved performance of calcia-stabilized zirconia electrolytic ceils for monitoring concentrations of H[sub 2]O(g) in H[sub 2](g) streams [(g) = gas phase] has been obtained through refinements in cell design and operation. These cells have been used to measure H[sub 2]O(g) concentrations in flowing H[sub 2] streams from as low as 0.018 to several hundred parts per million. For the lower H[sub 2]O concentrations, the cell time constants for response were in the several minute range. It appeared that the cells operated at equilibrium in the steady state but not so under transient conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
