Abstrakt: The article discusses the performative memorial activities at the Second Holy Week that was arranged in acknowledgment of the deep emotional response of the people of Poland to the demise of Pope John Paul II. Topics discussed include the rhythms of sacralization as a form of public mourning, the monopolization of religious memory through spatial transformations and ephemeral expressions, and the archive and repertoire as two approaches to transmitting cultural memory.
