Abstrakt: Investigates the structural stability of (100) surfaces of cubic boron nitride (cBN) and diamond using semiempirical molecular orbital methods. Stability of cBN in the dihydride phase; Passivation of the compound elated to the difficulty in chemical vapor deposition of high-quality cBN; Reconstruction of cBN with the formation of surface dimers.
