| Abstrakt: |
The article presents a literary analysis of the novel "Reading Lolita in Tehran," by Azar Nafisi. Topics discussed include how Nafisi's text attempts to realize the multiple personalities of canonical texts, the insights offered by the reception theory which presents the text as a site for the generation and proliferation of meaning, and the idea of the reader as co-author of the text. Also mentioned is Nafisi's interpretation of the canonical texts to understand her own choices. |
