| Abstrakt: |
The article describes cases of three young Muslim women with thinning scalp hair and nodules on their hair shafts. They were diagnosed to have a superficial fungal infection of the hair shaft called piedra. It also looks into the cultural and ethnic practices that may cause this infection, the topical treatment of ketokonazole shampoo, and the soil and environmental causes of the infection. |
