Metastatic calcification is defined as ectopic calcification of soft tissues in patients with a systemic mineral imbalance, and dystrophic calcification or heterotopic ossification is distinct from that disease. The authors encountered a metastatic calcification of the finger in a patient with chronic renal failure, the lesion disappeared spontaneously during the observation period. We report on a case of metastatic calcification of the finger with a review of the literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
