Abstrakt: The article presents the study which investigated whether the left atrial size could be used to predict the chemosensitivity to carbon dioxide (CO2) and central sleep apnea (CSA) in patients with heart failure (HF). The study was approved by the Mayo Clinic Institutional Review Board. In the study, the measured parameters included right ventricular systolic pressure (RVSP), mitral regurgitation, and left atrial volume index (LAVI).
