Abstrakt: The article explores how doctors in primary care identify, approach and refer patients with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) characterised by constant regional neuropathic pain usually associated with abnormal sensory, autonomic and trophic changes. Topics covered include uncertain incidence of CRpS with only 2 retrospective population based studies to date and the clinical features of CRPS which usually develops after a fracture or surgical trauma or prolonged immobilisation.
