Abstrakt: | A literary criticism of Mary Martha Sherwood's books "The History of the Fairchild Family" and "The Rose: A Fairy Tale" is presented. It examines the promotion of feminine virtue in both books and the placement of Sherwood's narrative within the family unit in "The History of the Fairchild Family." It also explores the symbolic significance of the characters in both books and the element of religious didacticism. |
