Carrier aggregation technology is one of the key techniques in long term evolution advanced (LTE-A). This paper focuses on improving the spectrum efficiency in the LTE-Advanced system which has adopted inter-carrier aggregation technology. Considering the differences of the features of carrier attenuation, it has been found that excessive controlling information could restrict the capability of data bearing in terms of low-frequency carrier which possesses a better fading characteristic. Therefore, a novel component carrier allocation scheme based on SINR has been proposed to tackle this problem. According to the scheme, the users are separated into different groups based on whether the controlling information could be demodulated correctly or not, then different primary component carriers are assigned to different user groups by which the overhead of controlling information carried by low-frequency carrier can be reduced and the spectrum efficiency improved. Simulation results have demonstrated that the proposed scheme can effectively improve the cell throughput [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
