A brief analysis of the objectives for which the thermal energy is required to maintain an adequate standard of living, are: thermal comfort of the population, providing drinking water, providing food, providing metals, fibers and building materials, providing a tolerable environment. (so far the atmosphere contains sufficient oxygen to ensure the breeding needs of creatures, but it should be kept clean). Depending on the size, heat consumers are classified as follows: heat "high consumer" with a rated thermal power input exceeding 2000 kW; heat "average consumer" with a rated thermal power input in the range 100 kW - 2000 kW; heat "low consumer" with a rated thermal power input of less than 100 kW.
