Abstrakt:	A report on several initiatives by the government in California which aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the state is presented. It states that the government passed two climate change statutes that would establish a statewide cap on greenhouse gases and limit the use of coal-generated electricity in the state. The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which would set up a cap-and-trade system to limit carbon dioxide emissions from power plants, is also discussed.
