A new low-cost synthetic procedure is developed to obtain worm-like ordered mesoporous silica using environmental friendly and industrial grade cation alkyl polyglycoside as structure-directing agents in pH 9 alkalescent condition by hydrolysis of TEOS. The results show that the optimum reaction condition is as follows; the reaction temperature is 21 °C, the reaction weight ratio is approximately that CAPG: water: ammonia: TEOS = 0. 9: 20. 0: 1. 1 : 2.0, the obtained worm-like silica materials is regular with good thermal stability. It can be used as a good catalyst carrier because the worm-like pore structure is still good after calcined at 550 °C for 4 hours and 100 °C hydrothermal treatment for 54 hours. The structure-directing agents the method selected is green, natural, low toxicity and low stimulation. This method is simple, fast, low-cost, environmentally, in line with the development trend of green chemistry and is propitious to industrialization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
