The article discusses the development of the Precision Clock Evaluation Facility (PCEF) to evaluate the spacecraft atomic clocks for the operations of Global Positioning System (GPS) concept program. It highlights several tests perform for the atomic clocks such as the long- and short-term performance evaluation and the environmental testing. It also notes that temperature testing replicate the changes on the GPS satellite. |
