Abstrakt: This paper reports on the spectral properties of Cr3+:Zn2SiO4 nanocomposites by a sol-gel method. Based on the absorption spectral profiles, their energy-level related Racah (B and C) and crystal field (Dq) parameters have been computed. Besides that, their XRD and HRTEM results, clearly demonstrate that the Cr3+:Zn2SiO4 nanocomposite are in nanometer sized-grains in spherical shapes with an willemite structure.
