The article focuses on keeping youth out of the gangs. It says that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Institute for Justice (NIJ) engaged some of the top criminal justice and public health researchers in the U.S. to explores the evidence of the book "Changing Course: Preventing Gang Membership." It states that the risk of the gang go beyond crime and violence. It adds that gang-involved youth have the possibility to engage in substance abuse and risk in behavior. |
