Abstrakt:	The article presents a case study of a 78 year old male patient who presented to physicians with a history of abdominal discomfort, weight loss and night sweats with a comorbidity that did not explain the progression of his symptoms. A discussion of diagnostic testing which was conducted on the patient, and resulted in him receiving a diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome refractory anemia with excess blasts-1 with a new single translocation and spontaneous clonal evolution into acute myeloid leukemia (AML), is presented.
