Presents a New York-based study of early adolescents's description of their attempts to mobilize social support for help with a recent stressful event. Suggestion that socioeconomic status does not prevent adolescents from attempting to mobilize support when they experience stress; Adult's insensitivity to sociometric differences; Provision of similar amounts of support to all adolescents; Peers as contrast. |
