Shows the potential for enhancing channel catfish disease resistance to Edwardsiella ictaluri and other diseases by transferring the gene coding for the lytic peptide into channel catfish. Evidence that synthetic lytic peptide is effective in delaying and reducing mortality and bacterial counts in channel catfish injected with Edwardsiella ictaluri. |
