Abstrakt: Farm to school (F2S) programs, which incorporate locally grown food into school meals and snacks, are a promising practice to improve children’s diets through increased fruit and vegetable consumption. Producers and distributors play an important role in F2S programs. This study seeks to explore producer and distributor perceived opportunities and challenges when participating in F2S programs. Ten Wisconsin producers and 5 distributors participated in key informant interviews, and a qualitative analysis identified 10 themes related to perceived opportunities, barriers, and social conditions for successful programs. Results can inform F2S program development and implementation and best practice policy development, particularly in Wisconsin. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
