The article discusses Washington, D.C's Supreme Court case League of Education Voters v. State (League) in which the court misinterpreted its judicial function as it ignored the text of Washington State's constitution and held a statute unconstitutional. Topics discussed include the background of League case and constitutional interpretation in Washington, the League court's reasoning and analytical framework for constitutional analysis through the reformed beyond-a-reasonable-doubt doctrine. |
