The Australian television (TV) industry has undergone many changes in 2002 including a restructure of the pay TV sector and executive departures at the Nine Network.The nation's antitrust agency, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, in November gave metropolitan pay TV services Foxtel and Optus Television the permission to forge a content-sharing deal as a result of which Foxtel channels have been included on the Optus service and vice versa. The government-funded Australian Broadcasting Corp. and Special Broadcasting Service have decided to include more comedy programs in their schedules. |
