The article describes the case of an 11-year old girl who presented with facial asymmetry associated with a mixed radiolucent-radiopaque change of the maxillofacial bones. The results of the patient's cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) scan and histopathological examination are described. The diagnosis of craniofacial fibrous dysplasia is discussed. The differential diagnoses of Paget disease of bone, florid osseous dysplasia, osteosarcoma, and diffuse sclerosing osteomyelitis are described. |
