An essay is presented which discusses the development challenges in the systems of wind and wave forecasting in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, Canada. It mentions the complex bathymetry along the coast surrounded by deeper waters and features its wave breaking and wave refraction. It also notes on the use of fine-resolution models to monitor the initial wind and wave conditions in the area. |
