Abstrakt: The first measurements of moving objects in the time-frequency domain using a novel 29.5 GHz radar are presented. The new dual-mode radar architecture measures both the radial and angular velocities of moving objects using an interferometric mode and a traditional Doppler mode. The interferometric mode provides a direct measure of the angular velocity in a manner that is mathematically similar to the measurement of radial velocity using the Doppler mode. Time-frequency plots are shown of a person carrying a corner reflector moving at different trajectories. It is shown that as the radial motion decreases, the angular motion increases, thereby providing a direct two-dimensional measurement of the motion of moving objects regardless of the trajectory.
