This study describes an application of the principles of activity based flexible budgeting advanced by Bacardi Limited to produce indices of improvement for sustainability performance measurement. Examples are used to demonstrate this is an effective tool for top management to promote their strategic initiatives, manage sustainability efforts, evaluate sustainability performance, and communicate sustainability results to stakeholders.
