In current modern medicine, a multitude of diseases have an impact on oral health care services. Oral manifestations in many systemic diseases may be the only evidence or the first sign of such medical conditions. In some other diseases these oral lesions are concurrently accompanied by other medical symptoms. Therefore, familiarity of both physicians and dentists with such manifestations will assist them for early diagnosis and better treatment of the disease. This paper reviews the oral manifestaions of systemic conditions in a new way based on their etiology, organ involvement and a new classification i.e., the most common (> 30%), less common (10-30 %) and rare (<10%) diseases.
