Abstrakt: The article highlights various reports, notes, and publications on the work of public utility commissions in the U.S. It includes the "Report of the Public Service Commission and Boston Rapid Transit Commission" concerning an investigation of the service of street railway companies. This contains tabulations showing the length of the ride for a five-cent fare from the center of Boston, ranging from 3.19 to 9.18 miles. One section is devoted to an historical outline of the development of metropolitan street railway lines and in the appendix will be found tables showing the number of cars in service each hour on a selected day, the number of passengers arriving at different stations and the number of crews required. Several tables deal with passenger counts. At the end are naps and charts illustrating the data. Another publication "Annual Report of the Public Utilities Commission of Rhode Island, for 1918" contains an analysis of accident statistics of railroads. Some other reports include "Twenty-ninth Annual Report of the Board of Gas and Electric Light Commissioners, of Massachusetts," "Report of the Public Service Commission of the First District of New York for 1912" and "Statistics of Transportation Companies."
