The article presents several poetry and short prose for the "Best of The Slam" feature of the journal in January 2014. In the prose piece "Struck," Madeline Chaput speaks of being struck by the way dead oaks looked. In the poem "here," Tia Yang observes that as dawn emerges, people journey toward morning. In the poem "that weekend I spent glued to my phone," Madeleine Johnson presents her metaphors for conditions of love. |
