Abstrakt: The article discusses the impact of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the U.S. on graduate medical education in the country. A review of the literature found that the main discussion involving residents involves enrolling patients for clinical research, use of social media by residents and physicians, and storage of patient information among involved in his or her care.
