The article reports on the claim by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force as of January 2014 that smokers and former smokers aged 55-80 should be screened yearly with low dose computed tomography. The recommendations were published in the December 31, 2013 issue of the journal "Annals of Internal Medicine." It claims that 85% of lung cancer cases diagnosed in the U.S. is due to smoking. |
