Abstrakt: The article presents the Chapter VI of the book "Looking Beneath the Surface: Medical Ethics From Islamic and Western Perspectives," edited by Hendrik M. Vroom, Petra Verdonk, Marzouk Aulad Abdellah, and Martina C. Cornel. It features an exploratory qualitative study which interviewed couples that were highly and poorly educated in Morocco. It discusses anthropological reasons for consanguinity, incidence of consanguineous marriages in Morocco, and risks of consanguineous marriage.
