Reports on a study which indicated that the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway's activation by low concentrations of the phorbol ester phorbol 12-tetradecanoate 13-acetate, induced the locus control region (LCR) subregion HS2 enhancer activity, using stable transfection assays.
