| Abstrakt: | The article discusses the history of the Roman Secular Games which started in the inaugural year of the Roman Republic in 509 Before Christ (BC). The games held in the next 500 years were Secular and also emergency appeals for divine help in the First and Third Punic Wars. Also discussed are the revival of the games in 17 BC by Roman Emperor Augustus to boost his personal and political images and Emperor Antoninus Pius' hosting the games in Anno Domini (AD) 148. |
