The article presents an analysis of the feeling of desire in the relationship between main character Peer Gynt, from Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's play of the same name, and his beloved Solveig. The authors discuss emotions such as aggression, fear, and anxiety. Opinions of scholars including psychoanalyst Melanie Klein, philosopher Kierkegaard, Søren, and professor of Scandinavian studies Dagne Groven Myhren are examined. Special attention is paid to Gynt's transformation into werewolf. |
