Abstrakt:	The article explores the impact of global inflation and national governments' anti-inflationary measures on the international banking industry as of June 1980. Discussed is the volume of loans from commercial banks to developing countries, the possibility for sovereign states to default on their debts, and monetary reserves held by central banks. The effect of fuel prices set by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is also examined.
