Abstrakt: The article discusses the consumers goods business in the U.S. as of January 1, 1971, with attention paid to foreign competition, U.S. companies, whose production is not in the field but are trying to perform diversification towards consumers goods, and the development of private brands. The article presents tables of groups of consumers goods' producers, such as foods and drinks, textiles, and household equipment producers, with data on the management performance of the companies.
