Abstrakt: The article discusses the results of a study that examined the use of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) as predictor of driving under influence (DUI) recidivism. It cites some instruments used to screen for alcohol abuse and dependence. The authors point out the need for an evidence-based tool to immediately assess DUI offenders after the point of arrest to help inform their dispositions. They conclude that BAC level is unable to provide adequate information on the level of risk of recidivism.
