Abstrakt: | The article focuses on the film career of avant-gardist and director Stan Brakhage. It highlights his use of childbirth as a metaphor for artistic creation, newness, and originality. It looks at his film "Window Water Baby Moving" which features his wife Jane while giving birth to their first child. A description of the film as a lyrical or personal filmmaking aesthetic and was seen as a sign of a major breakthrough in his art is also provided. |
