Abstrakt: An essay is presented on causes for outbreak of Kurdish violence in Turkey and lack of such ethnic violence in Syria. It cites that strong ties between the Kurdish Worker's Party (PKK) and the Syrian government have led to higher levels of violence in Turkey. Appendices informing on number of fatalities caused due to Kurdish conflict from 1985 to 2010 in Turkey and levels of Kurdish Violence in Turkey and Syria for the time period of 1984-2012, are also presented.
