Abstrakt: The article discusses the value of alunite as a cheaper source of aluminum and potash. According to the article, it was John A. Fitzpatrick, manager of a milling company in Utah who proved that alunite could be a good source of aluminum and potash. Compared to the bauxite method, extacting aluminum from alunite is cheaper with potash and sulphuric acid also extracted at practically no additional cost along with magnesium, potassium and bicarbonate.
