| Abstrakt: |
The article presents the results of a study which looked at whether including mortality after discharge affects the standardised mortality ratios of hospitals. It is said the study examined around 1.2 million patient discharges from 60 hospitals in the Netherlands from 2008 to 2010. Calculations used for standardised mortality ratios are presented. The study found that standardised mortality ratios are more preferable compared to in-hospital standardised mortality ratios. |
