Abstrakt: The article discusses the point of care (POC) testing in cardiac surgery, focusing on diagnostic modalities used to evaluate coagulation and platelet function. It states that POC plate function testing has great potential for detection of platelet dysfunction of antiplatelet drug therapy. It says that POC testing is also used in decision making for patients in noncardiac surgery who are on antiplatelet therapy and may benefit from neuraxial anesthesia.
