Abstrakt: Given that there is an increasing cosmetic exclusion list from NHS dermatology departments, aesthetic nurses are in a prime position, with the right training, to offer an excellent service to patients where there is no other professional alternative. Although many aesthetic nurses are familiar with skin care and well aware of the products that can be used to target common skin problems (e.g. acne and photodamage), many need to develop their knowledge surrounding dermatological conditions such as milia, moles and malignant melanoma. In this article, the authors outline the causes, treatments, differential diagnoses and essential points of patient communication for skin blemishes seen in clinics on a daily basis. Photos are provided as a visual reference and to enhance understanding. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
