Abstrakt: SUMMARY Organic soil samples with different vegetational background and others with variation in the degree of humification, were investigated with solid-state 13C NMR. This work indicates that the vegetational origin and degree of humification of the organic matter appear to influence the distribution of functional groups in organic soils considerably, but one year of decomposition under controlled laboratory conditions gave only small changes in the chemical composition.
