Abstrakt: | The details of the synovial mass lesion seen in rheumatoid arthritis have been reviewed and further details added to the previous descriptions. In the anteroposterior view the mass lesion is well seen as the space-taking lesion displacing the capsule laterally and the lateral supinator fat line. In the lateral projection the synovial mass displaces the proximal portion of the supinator fat line and the sharp contour of this mass lesion has been described, at and distal to the disrupted annular ligament. The mechanism for posterior interosseous nerve compression is explained by the mass lesion seen deep to and displacing the supinator muscle. The soft-tissue anatomy has been confirmed by the arthrographic findings in two patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
