Abstrakt: The role of visual and verbal coding processes in the Stroop effect is examined, and evidence is found that coding strategies can attenuate Stroop interference. This result is related to current models of the Stroop effect, and the possibility of a multiple-loci approach is raised. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
